Calendar method

The calendar method is part of the methods of the natural family planning, it is carried out alone very unsafely, however. The fertile days of the woman are determined at this method after several months of observation time. As a rule, the ovulation of the woman takes place 14 days before the beginning of the next menstruation. If e.g. the cycle of a woman lasts for 30 days, the ovulation very probably takes place on the 16th day after the menstruation beginning. If a woman has a shorter cycle of e.g. 25 days, the ovulation has to be expected after using the menstruation on the 11th day.

The ovum is only fertilization capable of about 12 to 18 hours after the ovulation, however, the spermiums survive in the environment favorable for them, three, until five days. So the pair doesn't have to do without sexual intercourse or to go back to other prophylaxis methods only on the day of the ovulation, but also the days before.

The Pearl index of the calendar method is between 15 and 35. is rather this method to recommend to calculate days for the fertile one at child wish.
